Privacy & device storage
Updated 28 October 2026. This page describes the current ExamDesk application and its default advertisement settings.
Your papers and attempts
ExamDesk reads imported PDF, text and JSON papers in your browser. The app does not provide an upload endpoint for your papers. It uses localStorage for saved attempts and history, and IndexedDB for the source PDF. Results and exports may contain question text and answers.
Saved data belongs to this browser profile and site address. Another person using the same profile may be able to see it. Clearing site data, using private browsing or changing devices or site addresses can make saved attempts unavailable. Export results you want to retain. Use your browser's site-data settings to delete stored ExamDesk data.
Using an AI service
ExamDesk supplies a conversion prompt you can copy. It does not automatically send a paper to an AI service. If you paste the prompt and attach documents in an external service, that service's terms and privacy policy apply. Share only documents you are allowed to share.
Advertisements and external links
The default house advertisement promotes PaperVoice using artwork served with ExamDesk. It does not load an advertising network or add tracking requests. Following the PaperVoice link opens papervoice.app, which has its own privacy practices.
Google ads are disabled in this version. The code includes an adapter for possible future activation, subject to publisher settings and the site's consent integration. If activated, Google's scripts can make network requests and access the page; this notice and the production consent implementation must reflect the actual configuration. The adapter does not pass question text, filenames, answers or scores as ad parameters. Timed tests and the paper editor have no ad placements.
Hosting
The hosting provider receives normal web requests, including network information needed to serve the site. ExamDesk does not include an analytics SDK by default. Hosting logs and browser extensions are outside the app's local storage controls.
